I use the finest components available

 in my  designs while keeping the prices affordable.
 

Gemstones:  I purchase the semi-precious gemstones that are used from many different vendors...searching for that unusual color, cut, or shape that gives my pieces that unique touch.  Gemstones are minerals that come from the earth, and as with all earthly beings, are not without blemishes. These slight imperfections are called inclusions and are not considered defects, but add to the charm and uniqueness of each piece.  I do not use “man-made” gemstones with very few exceptions...and I will always say what the stone is in the description.

Crystal:  I use only Swarovski crystal...the finest Austrian crystal to be found.  It has the highest lead content of any crystal...and it is lead that gives crystal the sparkle and weight for durability.  I do not use glass or plastic components.

Freshwater Pearls:  Freshwater pearls come from Japan, China or some states in America.  They also are available in many colors, shapes and quality.  I purchase freshwater pearls very carefully, looking for color, luster, and uniformity of each pearl.  Even then I use only the best pearls on each strand so that the pieces you purchase from me meets my high standard for quality.

Gold: For the gold look, I use gold-filled findings (lobster clasps, rings, crimps, tiny beads, ear wires, etc.) and vermeil accent beads and toggles.  What is vermeil?  Vermeil is 22k gold layered over sterling silver.  It is a heavier layer than gold plate, which I do not use, yet keeps the cost of my designs affordable.  If you want or require 14k gold, please request this in the comments on the shopping cart and I will email you the price of the piece.

Silver:  When you see silver in any of my designs...that is what you are getting...either Sterling Silver, which is 92.5% pure silver or Hill Tribe Silver, which is 95% to 99% pure silver.  I do not use silver plate or pewter.

Wire:  When wire is used in my designs, I use sterling or gold-filled wire.  This is also what I use in headpins for earrings and drops or dangles.

Beading Wire:  I use only professional beading wire which is 49 strands of stainless steel:  7 bundles of 7 strands each and Nylon-coated for flexibility and strength.  When working with Swarovski crystals, I use white coated beading wire so that it is almost invisible in the piece.
